“People who create their own loneliness are not less lonely than people who are suddenly struck by it.“ - John Irving
Everybody experiences loneliness in different situations of daily life. Independent from location and time, the feeling of loneliness can hit everybody instantly, unexpected or unforeseen.
My intention behind this work is to show that loneliness is a humane feeling that one experiences throughout life just like any other emotion. It is a feeling one does not need to be ashamed of. People can feel loneliness within family, a group of friends or at work. Loneliness is not dependent on the visible isolation or creation of it.
With this series I want to impress on our society that no matter who we are or where we come from we all experience the same emotions in life.
The sceneries „Einsamkeit I-III“ (Loneliness I-III) were created during my studies of Photo Design at Lette Verein in Berlin 2005. It is an ongoing project.
The sceneries are photographed on Dia 4x5“ with a Sinar.
